Emily received bachelor’s degrees in Political Science, Spanish, and Latin American Studies from the University of Kansas and spent several undergraduate semesters studying abroad in Spain and Costa Rica. She went on to earn a law degree from American University’s Washington College of Law in Washington D.C. During law school, she participated in the International Human Rights & Immigration Law Clinic, where she worked on a variety of complex cases and learned the importance of providing high-quality legal assistance to immigrant clients. She also completed an internship with the CAIR Coalition in Washington D.C., providing legal orientation and deportation defense to detained immigrants.
